"What!? Halla's in Solitary!?", Dorian asked, clearly incensed by the revelation.

"Y-yes, sir.", the unlucky Rocket Associate stammered.

"Well, what did she do!?", Dorian asked the Rocket Associate. His words were spoken with a slow clarity, one that dripped with fury.

Upon being told why Eris found herself in solitary confinement, Dorian's hand balled into a tight fist, one that threatened to ram itself into the Associate's gut.

"Which cell is she in now?", Dorian asked the Associate, after a tense moment of silence on his end.

"I-42.", the Associate uttered.

"I'll handle Halla myself.", Dorian told the man, before storming off towards the Solitary Ward.

He only hoped that they didn't rough the poor girl up too much.

Shadows ooze from beneath the nails, slick with the rhythm of her pulse.[break][break]

She knows herself powerless. Why'd she even try to fight against those who'd take lives without blinking? It was because she'd believed, wasn't it? She'd crumbled and listened to those silly little voices in her head.[break][break]

Something's outside. She can hear some kind of ruckus through the door, that faint thud of footsteps as they draw closer. Ah, they must be here to mess with her again. To set the record straight and carve it into her very mind that nothing except absolute obedience will be accepted.[break][break]

It'd be easier if we just give in, no?[break][break]

She grits her teeth, feels her jaws begin to ache in place of the dark patches marring her limbs. Better to keep the blood in her body than have her outright die before the pain sinks in. But then she relaxes, lets that feeling go with a quiet laugh.[break][break]

No looking presentable before her 'superiors' once they kick that door wide open.

Upon barging into Eris' cell, Dorian saw her. The bruises that marred her limbs caused his heart to sink. Dorian closed the door behind him, before rushing over to hug the child.

"Eris!", Dorian uttered, happy to see her, yet heartbroken over the state he found her in.

"Eris, why are you doing this?", he gently asked her.

And she tenses, instinctively curling up and shutting her eyes tight, only to feel a chill run down her spine as they pull her into a hug.[break][break]

A voice, a familiar one. It must be relief that colours her name, quickly turning as Dorian presents her with a question.[break][break]

"Why am I doing what?"[break][break]

She supposes he must be talking about her behaviour. But what about them is meant to be wrong like he so insinuates? She lets him have his moment, too tired to attempt to resist until he shows a moment of weakness in that embrace. Then she'll push him away, view him with narrowed eyes.[break][break]

"More importantly, why are you here?"

Dorian allowed Eris to push away from the hug. Though saddened, he understood why. Even if he saved her life, it was Rocket who got her into this situation in the first place. It was Rocket who took her mother away from her.

"Resisting.", Dorian told her, clearly not wanting to say it. It was as if the Mad Dog had a lump in his throat.

"I came to check up on you. I - I didn't want this to happen. I didn't want you to become a soldier. But the boss-", Dorian began, before clenching his fist.

Why did SILAS BLACKWELL have to find out about the orphanage!?
